Cancel or change your registration

GRE test taking body, ETS, gives enough of flexibility to students to change or cancel the test. In some unavoidable circumstances if a student is not able to appear for the exam then cancellation of the exam date can be done but not all the fee paid is given back. This can be done either through phone, by FAX or by writing an application to the center.

Rescheduling or canceling your test-date

• One must reschedule or cancel the date not before 3 days of the exam date as per the norms.
• In that case refund that equals half of the paid fee is paid back to the test-taker.
• For paper based system:

One must write to the GRE program with the following details: 1) Name
2) Date of Birth
3) Address
4) Registration Number
5) Date of the Test
6) Location of the Test
7) New Test Date

• For computer based system:

Visit the www.prometric.com where there is need for confirmation number, given to you at the time of registration.

• Call 1-443-751-4820, 1-800-GRE-CALL
• Pay US$50.
• One cannot transfer the date to next testing year.

Changing your test center

• Fee: US$50
• Center changes are bound to space problems so can be or cannot be done or allowed due to unavailability of resources.
• Paper based: Go to the preferred center with the registration number and if time and space along with the slots permits then it is legal and will allow you to give the test at center of your choice.
• Computer-based: It is not possible to change between two regional registration centers.
