Engineering in New Zealand

Engineering institutes in New Zealand offers around 1500 full and part time diploma, degree and post graduate study program, and lot more. New Zealand's third largest city, and with 150 different communities, is a multi-cultural land. The academic year is as follows: semester one runs February – June and semester two: July – November. Many programs have intakes in both semesters.

Each university has its own entrance criteria for different programs. Each academic department has its own system of assessment process and grading. Examinations, tests, assignments and practical work are used in most cases. Exams are usually held at the end of each semester. You are assessed by the course work marks as well as your exam marks and it will determine whether you have succeed in a particular subject.
