New Zealand Education system
New Zealand has a simple education structure which includes primary schooling followed by secondary schools and then finally tertiary education at some universities or college. The International student Assessment ranks New Zealand education quality as the 7th best in the world.
New Zealand offers compulsory and free education to all children between the ages of 6 to 16. The free education is granted in some special courses after applying to the MOE. They are specially granted to students who are experiencing some difficulty at school. One can even apply for home education. But to get an exemption from enrollment at a registered school you need to satisfy the Secretary of Education with a surety that the child will be taught regularly.
Here in New Zealand children start schooling after their 5th birthday. The education is compulsory in New Zealand and is regulated by New Zealand National Qualifications Framework. This system is designed for national qualifications provided in schools, vocational schools and training centers. The academic sessions varies from institutes to institutes but generally they are scheduled from late January till mid December specially for primary and secondary schools and for universities it starts from late February till mid November.
