Pre- Departure Orientation
Pre-departure Orientation is held by international office before the beginning of the academic year for international students. The whole session is about course advice, campus information, and life style in New Zealand. The orientation program is free and proves to be a golden opportunity to meet fellow students and make them friends.
Following are the topics covered in the Pre- departure orientation:
- Information about life in New Zealand that would include New Zealand customs, climate and education system. This will be helpful when you first come to New Zealand.
- Information about university includes student services, facilities, policies and procedures.
- This is a good opportunity to meet international; students.
- Guidance about your rights as a student
- Information about immigration requirements and regulations
During the orientation week the college staff organizes various social events. There are themed parties, trips, ball party and cultural events all the year around. Various competitions are organized in colleges with great passion and enthusiasm. Table tennis, foosball, portrait painting, basketball, darts, puzzle making, poker, chess and many other events are regularly contested.
Along with this cultural life is also taken care of by organizing themed parties, cultural events in colleges, dance and drama competition. Formal dinner and lunch programs are organized so that students know each other better and can build up good relations.
